1. acceptance and eligibility
These terms are an agreement between you and the independent developer operating wym ("wym," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using wym, you agree to these terms and the privacy policy.
The current app does not use age verification. You must be legally able to agree to these terms, or use wym with permission from a parent or guardian who accepts them for you. If you do not agree, do not use wym.
2. accounts and security
You may register with email and password, Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or begin with an anonymous guest account where available. You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials and device secure, and notify david@waasg.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
Usernames must not impersonate another person, violate rights, or mislead others. Anonymous accounts may be harder to recover if the device, session, or credentials are lost. You are responsible for activity under your account.
3. permitted and prohibited conduct
You may use wym for lawful personal and shared-expense organization. You may not:
- access another person's account or data without permission;
- harass, threaten, defraud, impersonate, or send abusive split requests or reminders;
- upload unlawful content or violate privacy, intellectual-property, or other rights;
- probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, bypass security, or use automated access except where law permits it;
- use wym to facilitate illegal financial activity or misrepresent debts, payments, or settlements.
4. your financial information
You are responsible for the accuracy of transactions, amounts, merchants, categories, notes, dates, budgets, goals, currencies, and other records you enter, import, capture, approve, or share. Shortcut parsing and merchant suggestions may be incomplete or incorrect. Review records before relying on them.
5. friends, groups, and splits
wym can record group expenses, guest participants, split requests, reminders, and settlement status. These features are organizational records between users. You are responsible for having permission to add participant information and for resolving disagreements directly with the people involved.
wym is not a party to user disputes, does not verify whether an amount is owed or paid, and does not collect debts. A status shown in the app is a record supplied or confirmed by users, not proof of payment.
6. wym does not move money
wym is not a bank, payment processor, money transmitter, lender, financial adviser, tax adviser, or debt-collection service. It does not hold funds, access bank credentials, transfer money, process Apple Pay payments, or guarantee repayment. Any payment occurs through a separate service chosen by the users.
7. financial-information disclaimer
wym provides tracking and productivity tools, not financial, investment, accounting, tax, or legal advice. Budgets, summaries, categories, currencies, savings goals, and reminders are informational and may contain errors or delays. Make financial decisions using your own judgment and, when appropriate, a qualified professional.
8. premium subscriptions
wym may offer auto-renewable monthly, annual, or other premium plans through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple charges your Apple Account at confirmation. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel through Apple at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Available plans, prices, and benefits are shown in the App Store purchase flow.
Trials, introductory offers, eligibility, renewals, price changes, billing, cancellation, and refunds are governed by Apple's terms and the terms displayed at purchase. Apple may notify you and request consent where required for a price increase. Cancel or manage a subscription in your Apple Account settings. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple. The app provides a restore-purchases flow through RevenueCat and Apple.
Deleting your wym account does not cancel an active App Store subscription.
9. user content
You keep ownership of information and content you submit. You grant wym a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service and comply with law. This license ends when the content is deleted, subject to shared records, backups, and legal retention.
10. intellectual property
wym, its software, design, branding, text, and other service materials are owned by wym or its licensors and protected by law. Except for rights expressly granted by these terms or the applicable Apple license, no rights are transferred to you.
11. third-party services
wym relies on Apple, Google Firebase, Google Sign-In, and RevenueCat. Your use of those services may also be governed by their terms and privacy policies. wym is not responsible for third-party services, outages, policy changes, or content outside its control.
12. availability, changes, suspension, and termination
The service may change, pause, or become unavailable. Features may be added, removed, limited, or discontinued, including premium features. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, address security risk, or respond to a material breach of these terms. Where practical and lawful, notice will be provided.
You may stop using wym at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms, and obligations relating to shared records, will survive.
13. account deletion and shared records
You can delete your account in the app's data-management settings. The deletion flow removes your authentication account and associated personal app data and removes you from groups. Some shared transaction or split context may remain available to other participants where needed for their own records, dispute resolution, security, or legal obligations.
Deletion does not cancel App Store billing, and Apple or RevenueCat may retain subscription records under their own obligations. The deletion request runs when you confirm it in the app and reports an error if it cannot complete.
14. warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, wym is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of wym will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities; disputes between users; unpaid splits; or decisions made from app records. Nothing in these terms limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
15. indemnification
Where permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend and indemnify the developer of wym from third-party claims arising from your unlawful misuse of wym, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of another person's rights. This does not apply where prohibited by consumer-protection law or to claims caused by the developer's own conduct.
16. governing law and disputes
Before filing a formal claim, you and wym agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the issue by contacting david@waasg.com. Applicable law governs these terms, including any mandatory consumer protections and rights you have where you live.
These terms do not add an arbitration clause, class-action waiver, or shortened claim period.
17. Apple-specific terms
The iOS app is licensed, not sold, under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies in addition to these terms. If these terms conflict with that license, the Apple license controls for the iOS app.
This agreement is between you and the independent developer of wym, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. To the extent required by the Standard EULA, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries and may enforce the applicable terms against you.
18. contact and changes
We may update these terms as the service or law changes. The effective date will be updated, and material changes may be communicated in the app or through another appropriate channel. Continued use after updated terms take effect means you accept them where permitted by law.
For support or questions about these terms, email david@waasg.com.
